Gathering Embers
Gathering Embers
(Women’s StoryWork Group)
Come in, love.
Shake off the cold.
This is a place for what still glows beneath the surface—for the stories that shaped you, the fire you thought had gone out, and the pieces of yourself waiting to be seen.
In this circle, we gather the embers.
The soft, smoldering remnants of old truths, fierce ache, quiet beauty, and the parts of your past that still hum in your bones.
We’ll meet them through body-led writing, unruly art, sacred rest, and rituals that don’t ask you to be neat—only real.
Bring your hesitation.
Bring your fire.
Bring your whole self—wild, weary, wondering.
You're not too much. You're not too late. You're here. And in this space, that’s everything!
Let’s gather what still burns.
Let’s remember. Let’s become.
Together.

We’ve come together to tend what still glows.
The stories we carry, the fire we’ve held, the parts of us that want to be seen—we bring them here.
Through shared ritual, art, and reflection, we’ll gather what remains, name what’s been forgotten, and honor what’s ready to rise.
We don’t have to be ready—just willing.
Together, we’ll keep the fire.
-
For those who carry a steady fire inside—
ready to be known,
to come home to their good bodies,
and to stop playing small.
We keep the fire going.
We rise together, one step at a time. The those of us who are learning to trust our bodies, speak what’s true, and move through the world without editing ourselves to stay small.
For those of us ready to look back with kindness—
to listen to the girls we once were, and gently observe how they still influence the way we love, trust, and show up today.
Together, we begin to flow differently. For the ones who stepped in early—
who mended, soothed, and made things right.
Who traded play for vigilance,
and rest for responsibility.
Who slipped out of their own skin,
quietly forgetting their names.
Now, in the warmth of each other,
we remember.
We come home.

This will be a small, honest space—a place to feel safe, seen, and part of something real.
I know many of us carry different experiences of “women’s groups,” and this won’t be a Bible study, small group, or prayer circle. It’s a space to show up fully, without pressure or pretense. Just you, as you are.I ask that you commit to attending all of our gatherings and spend time with the workbook and your story in between.
Your presence matters—not just for you, but for the strength and trust of the group.
This work is deep and important, and we’re in it together. -
Apply via the application that is below.
Send you payment to @awilderguess on Venmo to save your seat. (There are two options one time payment of $400 or $200 now and $200 at midpoint)
(Please reach out if payment could potentially be a deterrent I believe cost should not keep anyone from healing.) awilderguess@gmail.com
Double check the dates to make sure you are able to commit to our gathering.
You will then be placed in a group, with no more than 6 participants, and be receiving our group workbook.
During our time together you will get to create, play, and enter into ritual and blessing.

“The past is the place we develop our deepest convictions about ourselves, life, and God. One cannot enter another’s past merely by hearing the conclusions and convictions that resulted from it but by being invited into the story itself... When one is permitted into this terrain, the guest stands on holy ground.”
— Dan Allender

Q&A
-
It’s totally normal if your early memories feel a little blurry or out of reach. Sometimes all it takes is flipping through old photos, playing a song you used to love, or jotting down big milestone moments—like where you lived, school chapters, or shifts in your family (someone moving out, a divorce, that kind of thing)—to help stir something up. If you feel stuck (which most people do in the beginning), we will be doing a one on one session where I can talk about key themes in your story and help point you in a solid direction.
-
Nope it is not :)
I want to emphasize that while engaging in this StoryWork approach, it's important to note that I'm not a licensed therapist. Should you require additional support during this process I am more than willing to assist you in finding a qualified therapist or mental health care provider in your local area.
*My offerings are 100% inclusive and affirming. All of you and your story are welcome here.
-
We are all creative beings. The way we embody that can look different from person to person.
Some of the things we are doing here may make you uncomfortable. Can we get curious about why that may be for you? Nothing will be forced on you here and is 100% invitational.
Breathe deep my friend! :)

“My simple desire is to remind us of what has been understood for three millenia or more about the nature of suffering. They way forward is through it- not around it- all within relationships.” Curt Thompson
I believe you are here because you want care and are tired of trying to go around the pain. You desire to rewrite the ending to this particular story and give yourself the opportunity to be surrounded by safety and understanding.
We all have painful stories, half of what makes them traumatic is the lack of witness and empathetic presence.
I want to walk the line with you of not pushing you too far, but also letting you name what has been true for you so you are able to step further into the healing you deserve and are here to go after.
We are both hurt and healed in community and are wired for it!
-
Totally, read more about it here and how we can destigmatize and reclaim the word for the power of our own reclaiming and journey!
-
You’ll be gently invited to write a story—600 to 800 words—from your life, somewhere between the ages of 4 and 18.
Before reading it aloud in the group, you’ll send it to me, so I can hold it with care alongside you in the days before it’s your time to share. When it’s your week to share, we’ll begin by grounding—taking time to land in our bodies and arrive fully in the circle.
If you feel ready, you’ll read your story aloud, and then we’ll tend to it together.
I may name what echoes, gently wonder about what feels unclear or left unsaid, and offer questions.
The group will then be invited to hold your story with warmth, curiosity, and care. This is brave, tender work—but you’re not doing it alone. You get to lead the way. We’ll meet you at the fire.
-
Your presence matters—not just for you, but for the strength and trust of the group. This work is deep and important, and we’re in it together.
I ask if you are going to miss more than 2 gatherings to please consider signing up for a future group.
*Pricing will not be adjusted for missed groups.
-
Yes, there are two. One time payment of $400 or two installments of $200. (One in the beginning of the group, and one at midpoint).
Please e-mail me at awilderguess@gmail.com if you need different payment accommodations I believe money shouldn’t be an issue when it comes to healing!
-
Totally, that is just a fun part of the branding :)
